Rest In Peace Dear Freind

We were very saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Dr. Maurice Hurley.
Maurice, a former Consultant of Radiation Oncology at Cork University Hospital, passed away peacefully on June 15th 2025 at Marymount University Hospice and Hospital, Cork.
May He Rest In Peace.

Dr Maurice Hurley

Dr. Hurley was a founding member of Aid Cancer Treatment in 1983 and worked with us up to his retirement and beyond.
His dedication and leadership were a source of inspiration. He worked tirelessly to progress cancer services in the Munster region for over three decades.
We will cherish the laughter and the legacy he leaves behind. He was a friend and a guiding light, always leading with wisdom and compassion. He had an unwavering commitment to excellence, which we all aspire to emmulate.

Maurice was in attendence at the first BlueBell Lunch in 2023 where he and the other founders of ACT were recognised by the current chairperson of the board for their service and commitment to the organisation.
We are all grateful that Maurice had the oppurtunity to witness the successful launch of the now annual Bluebell Lunch and the new era of fundraising it helped to usher in as none of it would have been possible without him.
ACT would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff in Ward 5B of Cork University Hospital and all the staff at Marymount Hospice especially those in St. Catherine's Ward who did exceptional work caring for Maurice in his final weeks.
We would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Hurley's family and friends and all who mourn him in this sad time.
Thank you Maurice for everything over all the years. Sleep well dear friend.
Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.
