New VeinViewer Enhances Patient Care in Radiotherapy
The Radiation Oncology Department at Cork University Hospital is delighted to extend its sincere gratitude to Aid Cancer Treatment (ACT) for their generous donation of a VeinViewer—a state-of-the-art device that will significantly enhance the experience and comfort of our patients who require IV contrast for their radiotherapy planning scan.
The VeinViewer is a cutting-edge piece of technology that uses near-infrared light to project a real-time image of a patient’s veins directly onto the skin. This allows the team to locate veins more quickly and accurately, reducing the need for multiple needle insertions and improving the overall efficiency of cannulation procedures.
For many of our patients—particularly those with difficult venous access—this device will make a meaningful difference.
“This donation will have a direct and positive impact on our patients. The VeinViewer will support our team in delivering safer, more comfortable care, and we are incredibly grateful to ACT for making this possible.”
On behalf of the entire department and the patients we serve, we thank ACT for their continued support and commitment to improving cancer care. Your generosity is truly making a difference.
